So, Mark Zuckerberg is coming to BYU on March 25, and students are encouraged to “leave your tech questions for Mr. Zuckerberg below in the comments” on the Facebook event.
I was reading through some of them and decided to round up some of the most important questions that people had for Zuck.
- Mark, Will there ever be a “dislike” button?
- i have one for mark zuckerberg: can i work for you?
- Facebook is one of many ideas and one of few that succeeded–how did it get off the ground?
- Will you take interns that aren’t techy?
- Really should try some ice cream while you’re here.
- hey mark, quick question: did you realize that jesse eisenberg is in fact NOT a redhead? hollywood seemed to miss that detail about you in the movie. if i was one of the only surviving gingers in the world, i’d be a little ticked they weren’t promoting my kind. sorry man.
- Ten years from now, what will facebook look like?
- Mark,
- Mark – Are you worried that advertisements take away from facebook’s coolness?
- Mark,
- My friend wants to know how to put a state as her hometown instead of a specific city, because she lived in several different parts of the state while growing up.
How accurate is your character in ” The Social Network”? Did you actually say any of the sly responses during deliberation of your lawsuits from the movie, or were they Hollywood creations?
Why are there so many dead or broken links on the Facebook for Developers section of Facebook?

Free download: Ghost Surf by the Crylics
“This album represents a period of trial and error within the Crylics. Without Landon, I had to figure out what kind of sound I wanted. It was a struggle that led me in many different directions, and to many different instrumentations. Now that Landon has returned we’re still experimenting with our sound. Overall, I’m happy with the album. Recording it was a great learning opportunity.”
- Lynn Wiberg
My personal favorite songs from the album:
Fear of Love
Latter Days
Alt Lake
But please, download the whole album and give it a listen. Let us know what you think. You can even stream the album in its entirety here:

Welp, hey guys I’m getting married so I’m just planning stuff over here. I guess I’ll show you some of the things I want right now.
The dress:
The colors:
Navy blue, this kind of dusty blue color that is more gray than this one and light gray.
I don’t think I really want a veil but I do want something cool to wear in my hair. I’m thinking maybe this:
I haven’t found any shoes that I’m in love with yet, so I’ll keep looking. I’m thinking I’ll go with navy blue shoes, but I don’t really want to wear heels. If I’m going to have to pretend I’m graceful for a day, I cannot wear heels. At least not crazy tall heels.
I’m also looking forward to the unveiling (haha) of Anthropologie’s wedding site bhldn.com which is today (Valentine’s Day! Aww). I guess it’s pronounced “beholden.” Maybe I’ll find good shoes there.
I like pearls too so expect lots of pearl stuff in decorations and jewelry (maybe).
(Sorry for all the parentheses.)
UPDATE:
Have I just found the perfect shoes from bhldn.com? Probably.
The Valentine’s Day that I remember most was my sophomore year.
I was in my Photo 1 class working on some prints in the dark room when a small group of girls rushed in to tell me that I got a Valentine’s Day gram. They said that they didn’t know who it was from so I had to go check. I was super excited because the only time I ever got one was in elementary school when my mom would send my brothers and I a little flower or candy bar at school almost every year.
This could mean that one of my friends actually liked me enough to do something like that for me. There was also the unlikely possibility that the boy I had a crush on sent me a Valentine’s Day gram (!) so I was trying to act cool and said, “Oh, really? Ok, well I have to put this photo in the fixer before I go check but I’ll be there in a few minutes.” I knew that I was just going to throw that one away because it was perfectly black anyways, but I didn’t want to be lame and rush out to scour the piece of paper for a boy’s name.
So after I put my photo in the fixer for not long enough, I threw it away and exited the dark room.
I walked slowly to my desk which was surrounded by the same girls who told me I got a Valentine’s Day gram, so I assumed they were waiting to see if it was from a boy.
I looked at the cute pink and red balloons and tried to not cry as I got closer to what I thought could be the most important balloons and candy combination of my life.
I tripped a little which may have triggered a tear of embarrassment but I hid it with a small, still cool, smile.
Then, I sat in my seat and unfolded the note to see that every class I had was listed at the top. Someone paid enough attention to me to know all of my classes?!
Below that I read the small note that said “From a secret admirer” and I held in the squeals of excitement because I knew they didn’t let people send these things anonymously because I had kind of planned on doing that. So, I looked at the name at the bottom to see that it read, “Love, Mom.”
As soon as I groaned, the girls all started giggling and told me that they knew who it was all along; they just wanted to see my reaction.
I acted really embarrassed about the whole thing and rushed back into the dark room so I could get away from them. There, I admitted to myself that I knew it wasn’t from some boy and I wasn’t really a good enough friend to any girls to deserve something from them. I was really glad my mom sent it to me because for some reason girls walked around school carrying huge teddy bears every year to show that someone had huge teddy bear-sized love for them and it was intimidating. For once I could carry something around and feel good that I got a gift that year. No one had to know it was from my mom.
And maybe that boy who I liked so much (and always had math classes with) turned around in class to see that I had balloons and had his friends pester me about who it was from and I just smiled slyly and ignored them.
MY MOM IS AWESOME.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
If you want to read some of my other posts about high school, here you go:
Part 1 – Part 2 – Part 3 – Part 4 – pee pee
I decided to compile a list of all the tweets I’ve been mentioned in by people (or bands) that I admire, because little things like this are nice, you know? I’m always a little over-excited when some replies to me, or OMG! retweets me, and these are the ones I remember best. Also, I just want to thank all of you people who follow me, because it’s shocking really that I have more than 10 followers. I love you all.
:’(
(Forgive me, but I go to BYU and there were two stories in the Daily Universe about them – not to mention their song was being played everywhere. Provo is proud of their bands, which is grrrrrreat!)
Maybe it seems stupid that I would get excited over some of these, but I always really like when people reply to me. It is nice.
XOXO
